PARTNERSHIP FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AND BOSTON CONSULTING GROUP TO RECOGNIZE TOP ORGANIZATIONS IN 2018 BEST PLACES TO WORK IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RANKINGS

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, December 12, the nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service and global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group will honor the top-ranked and most improved federal agencies and subcomponents included in this year’s Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings.

The Partnership’s Best Places to Work rankings serve as the only real-time performance measurement across all of government, providing the most comprehensive assessment of how public servants view their jobs and workplaces. Using information obtained from the Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Viewpoint Survey and other internal agency surveys, the Best Places to Work data measures employee engagement government-wide and at individual agencies, and examines federal employee opinions on 10 workplace categories. These categories include effective leadership, employee skills-mission match, pay, strategic management, teamwork, innovation, training and development, support for diversity, performance-based rewards and advancement, and work-life balance.

“The public is best served when government leaders create an engaged workforce,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership. “We should be celebrating and learning from the Best Places to Work in our government.”

These organizations comprise 17 large federal agencies (15,000 or more employees), 27 midsize agencies (1,000-14,999 employees), 29 small agencies (100-999 employees) and 415 subcomponents (subagency, bureau, division, center or office).
