2024 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® Rankings

Employee Engagement and Satisfaction

The Partnership for Public Service presents the 2024 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® rankings.

The full rankings include 18 large, 25 midsize and 32 small agencies as well as 30 large subcomponents, 155 midsize subcomponents and 272 small subcomponents. Scores are also included on employee views relating to seven workplace issues that affect employee engagement and satisfaction.

The rankings are determined by the Best Places to Work employee engagement and satisfaction index score, calculated by the Partnership.

The index score is calculated using a proprietary weighted formula that looks at responses to three different questions in the federal survey. The more the question predicts intent to remain, the higher the weighting.

  • I recommend my organization as a good place to work. (Q. 46)
  • Considering everything, how satisfied are you with your job? (Q. 70)
