This special edition of the 2023 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government® provides the rankings of the top 10 agencies in four size groupings—large, midsize and small agencies as well their subcomponents.

The rankings, which measure whether employees would recommend their agencies as good places to work and whether they are satisfied with their jobs and organizations, are produced by the Partnership for Public Service and the Boston Consulting Group. This early release is provided in collaboration with The Washington Post.

The full rankings, which include 17 large, 26 midsize and 30 small agencies as well as 459 subcomponents, will be released on May 20, 2024

Most of the data used to develop the rankings was collected by the Office of Personnel Management’s Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey between May and July 2023. Additional data came from individual agency surveys taken between June and November of 2023.
